Kind of like a large calzone with a fluffy crispy exterior.
The dough actually looked quite small before being put into the oil but it turned out so large, we were surprised!
Very good value for money as well because it was just €5.5 for quite a large fried pizza contraption.
They offered a traditional but I'm not too much a fan of tomato sauce so I asked for a customized version - Buffalo mozzarella, ricotta, salami. Such a beautiful combination!

If you want to try the classic fried pizza then this is the place to come. Freshly made, flavoursome ingredients, not too greasy. Very friendly and welcoming. Large size is a pocket made from two pizza bases so plenty big enough to share for only €5.

Definitely stop by while in Napoli.
Update: I returned 9 months later and the fried pizza is just as good! Perhaps even better! Be sure to come by while in Napoli.This place is totally a hidden gem! I can't describe how incredibly delicious this pizza fritta is. It was my fiancé's favorite meal in Italy. We were only in Naples for two days and had lunch here both days because it was so good. Highly recommend!!!!!
Went twice to La Vera Pizza Fritta da Gennaro and loved it both times. I tried the fried calzone and the pizza – both absolutely incredible. The dough is light and not greasy at all, and the flavor is outstanding. The ricotta is top quality, and the service is fantastic. 100% recommended!

Sheer brilliance! We had been in Naples for less than an hour when we ventured out of our hotel in search of pizza fritte. I now know what has been missing all my life! This pizza is so, so good. They only seem to do two types - small and large - and the filling is simple: tomato sauce, mozzarella and ricotta. Fried for a couple of minutes and served wrapped in paper. Fine dining it is not, but it sure is delicious. We perched at the counter on the street and ate one large and one small, plus a soft drink and a beer, all for €11 👌- Servizio

Top 3 things I ate in Naples and I ate a lot of things. They are so friendly and accept credit cards too. A small one is large enough to split as a snack or to eat on its own as a more hearty meal.
